It is Friday and I am so excited to share some of what is going on around here!
I want to start by highlighting some of my favorite adoption fundraisers that are going on. To see them all go to the An Adoption Place page up at the top. We have almost 40 families that are listing their adoption fundraisers and bringing kids home from all over the world. On Fridays I try to go and pray over that list and it is just overwhelmingly beautiful to think of the lives that are changing. Seriously, what better way to spend your money than on helping to bring a child into a family? Click around and think about the holidays, birthdays etc that you have coming up! Maybe just pick one family and choose to bless them today.
Here is one of my favorites
We have one of these hanging in our living room. Su makes these and she is so talented! She helped us pick the colors (ours has reds, khakis and black) and then you list the "We Dos" that are a part of your family. Our kids love it. They ask all the time to snuggle on the couch and read the things our family does. This is my new favorite wedding gift...what an awesome way for a couple to start their marriage by defining what they do.
The proceeds of these works of art go towards helping Su's family adopt from Ethiopia.
To see the rest of the really incredible fundraisers visit the An Adoption Place page
Prayer Requests
Miss Shaylee Joy is just home from China and her family is walking a journey that mirrored our own. Shaylee has the same heart condition as Georgia and is having open heart surgery today.
Please visit their blog and leave them a word of encourgaement. When we were in the hospital with Georgia, I would weep over the comments as they meant so much to me and spoke so clearly that we were not alone.
For those of you who were here last week, remember we prayed for the family who had been held up over and over again by new obstacles in finalizing their adoption of two children from Uganda? Get this....God has moved every mountain and they have Visas!!!! Those precious kids are finally coming home!
You can go and celebrate with them Here
Please keep praying for Teresa as she soaks up the love of her family and her parents and doctors look for a way to repair her heart
Click Here to go and find out the latest and leave them a word of encouragement too!
You can find many more families in need of prayer and support on the Prayer Request page.
Just for Fun
Because everyone could use a good laugh in their day...
Last week Parker (who is five) wanted to pray for dinner. He stood up, folded his little hands and in his most earnest voice said, "God...I really need a lair so I have somewhere to invent things..."
A few days ago he swooped up behind me in the yard, one little fist raised in the air and said,
"Mama, you don't have to worry. I'll keep you safe because I am your lavatory hero!!!"
And the winner of the It's Poppy Dip!
