In the Waiting...

While we are waiting for answers again about Georgia's heart...

She has a Mama and Daddy pouring out their hearts in prayer for her

Savoring every tiny antic, treasuring every giggle

Every. Single. Moment.

Here's the thing that is weighing on my heart tonight, Georgia is not the only one

By far...

There are over 140 MILLION children who deserve

to be prayed over,

cherished,

loved,

held...

to know the love of family.

Who are waiting right now, and will probably still be waiting far after we have answers

and my heart aches for them.

Who is standing fretfully over them begging God for answers as they sleep?

and there are two verses that I just cannot get off of my mind

"God sets the lonely in families,

he leads forth the prisoners with singing"

Psalm 68:6

I fully believe that God longs to place every single orphan in a family...

every person who is lonely in a family....

I also believe that family can look different than how we in America may view it....

I also fully believe this

If you say, "But we knew nothing about this,"

does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?

Does not he who guards your life know it?

Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?

Proverbs 24:12

or here it is again in The Message version

Rescue the perishing;

don't hesitate to step in and help.

If you say, "Hey, that's none of my business,"

will that get you off the hook?

Someone is watching you closely, you know—

Someone not impressed with weak excuses.

We all know to some extent what is going on...

and not everyone can adopt or is being called to adopt...

BUT....

We are all called to do this

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27

We all can do something...

I believe that God has a journey for each of us as we search for His heart and what He would have us do (and continue to do)

Some will be called to adopt

Some to encourage and help support those that do

Some to go and visit and serve orphans

Some to support them from home

and ALL to pray for these beyond precious children

because you see... we may not get to hold them all but being willing to step in and ask the Lord to give us a parent's heart for them, an ache to pray for them to do something....

I believe it

truly changes life both for us and them.
