This is Why....

My prayer is that somehow the Lord will use us amongst these beyond beautiful little gems that we get the honor of spending time with......

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Mark 10:14

because they already have captured my heart

Fools are put in many high positions,

while the rich occupy the low ones.
Ecclesiates 10:6

It absolutely breaks my heart that any of these sweet children are lonely, cold, scared, waiting for families

I may not have much money,
but I have hands that can go and hold them

I may not be able to adopt them all,
but I can give my time,
I can be a voice when they have none,

I may not have a semi to bring tons of food,
but I can roll up my sleeves and stir pots,
I can go into their villages and bring what my two hands can carry.

I may not be able to take away all of the hurt and loneliness,
But I can step into their lives,
learn more about how to love and pray.

I may not have all of the answers,
but I can go prayerfully with my God who does.

We all have so much to give...

and even more to gain....

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,  I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25:34-40

So, we pack and we pray and we eagerly anticipate all that our eyes will see, our hands will touch and our hearts will hold....because God just does not fail.

Oh Shannon! You have a beautiful heart! I am excited for your trip and the experience your family will share. The second photo of the little girl with the poofy hair ... steals my heart too ... she reminds me of the blue tutu that I JUST finished minutes ago. Oh I wish I could send it with you. I will send prayers and for God's hand to be with you all!

It's going to be amazing! God bless your efforts, I can't wait to hear all about it.

and once again that post you wrote on the 5th, were words I so needed to hear. I just saw it now. What a time we've been having, lots of trials but I do feel that it's all for a reason.

Shannon, you DO have such a beautiful heart! ...I've known this for a long time, btw!! ;)

I can't wait to hear all about your experiences there. I'm certain that you are about to leave another piece of your heart behind. It's inevitable, when you have the love of Jesus in you!

Praying for your family during this trip...I know it will be amazing, and likely heart-wretching at the same time. Those little faces pierce my heart, too... especially that little girl with the tangled hair... such a cutie! :) But I have a feeling it will be much more pressing in person, with all of those precious big brown eyes staring up at you. Thank you to all of your family for being a vessel that God is working through this Christmas!! I can't think of a more precious gift this season!

Love and Hugs,
~ Tanya
