Day One of EEG & EKG!

God is our refuge and strength,

an ever-present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way

and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

though its waters roar and foam

and the mountains quake with their surging.
Psalm 46:1-3

What do you do when you are 3 years old and need to have an EEG????

First, you charm the socks off the intake lady until she brings you a giant sparkly pink unicorn stuffed animal...

Which is about the coolest thing ever since your sister has a unicorn stuffed animal too...

Then you ride in a super sweet wagon where the guy let's you push every button in the elevator, because you're just that cute with your new unicorn.

Then the wagon takes you to your room and you jump up and yell "I LOVE MY NEW BED!!!!"

and cuddle with your Mama and unicorn until the EEG tech comes.

And he draws on your head with a scratchy marker for a really long time (which isn't too fun but Mama lets you watch Diego so you do ok)

and then he scrubs your head with green scratchy exfoliant goo that makes your face all scrunchy when he scrubs hard. But you forgive him because he sings along to Diego with you and Mama gives you kisses.

Then, he dips cloth in this really stinky gel and cements it to your head with a little drill looking tool that shoots out air...which is not so fun and makes you cry...but Mama and unicorn are there and even though it takes almost 2 hours to do it all you still tell the EEG guy, 'Thank you, I'll miss you" when he leaves.

and you gets beautiful rainbow wires that you keep begging to take home...along with a 'purse' to hold the EEG machine which you also want to take home.

Some of the EEG leads are so stinky and close to your eyes, but you adjust and your Mama is so darned proud of you...

and you get to watch Diego until your Mama just might go crazy...

and the hospital bracelet looks like something out of the Little Mermaid

Oh and you get 2 video cameras on you all the time! and a screen to watch yourself on...
which causes you to do all kinds of crazy dance moves at yourself...

and you get an awesome hospital cup and free apple juice!

and new toys when you start to pick at those EEG leads (thanks Grammie Pat!)

and you get to play Bingo while cuddling with Mama, right from your hospital bed!

and the nurse call button with tv volume control is amazing!

You have Mama all to yourself and she plays "Mama/baby" with your little animals until she can hardly keep her eyes open...

Then she paints your fingernails...

and puts flowers on them...

and you get to eat right in your bed!!!!

Thanks so much for praying for us I have no doubt today went so well because of those prayers! We are going to try to do some "stress testing" activities tomorrow to help the Cardiologist...should be interesting since her wires only go a few feet! Any ideas????

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,

the holy place where the Most High dwells.

God is within her, she will not fall;

God will help her at break of day.

 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;

he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
Psalm 46:4-6

What a brave and precious little girl. I can't imagine having to have those wires so close to her little eyes and head. She looks like she handled it so well and you were so prepared. Praying for healing, answers and a stress free day while you go through stressful activities.

Thanks for all the wonderful photos!
Oh sweet Georgia!
The wires are beautiful but I shudder at the thought of how my boys would react to any of that! They (and I) would freak out and your Georgia is so patient and polite! What a doll. She must understand that they are trying to help her.
We'll continue to pray for understanding and healing! Hopefully there will be an episode that will tell them exactly what is happening. HOW CAN THAT HAPPEN WITH ONLY A FEW FEET OF WIRE THOUGH! Here are some ideas??
Jumping Jacks.
Jumping on the bed ... is that allowed? That at least stresses me out when the boys do it.
Batting a balloon back and forth?
A kick line (like the Rockettes)
Racing cars on the floor?
Hop Scotch (make with tape boxes close to the bed)
Running in place?
Wow, there are only so many things you can do when confined by electrodes and wires that short!
Hang in there! Hugs!

I memorized Psalm 46 in college - it's one of my favorites.

Georgia looks absolutely adorable! I can see why she charmed everyone in the hospital!

I'll keep praying that everything continues to go well. And that the doctors figure out once and for all what is going on!

Oh my. I honestly don't know whether to smile or cry. Seeing all of those wires hooked up to your baby girl, makes wells in my eyes. But seeing those big brown eyes and that smile looking up at you... TOTALLY makes me smile, too! She is such a brave little girl, and she has an AWESOME mommy! Keeping you in our prayers during your stay. Thanks for the photos and keeping us posted. Hang in there and give your sweet GM a smootcher for me!!

OXO,
Tanya
