Girl Unfettered!

Posted by Picasa

but those who hope in the LORD

will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Miss Georgia Mei is blooming...it is astonishing to watch. She is running and not having to lay down and rest, leaping and jumping and climbing with a confindence I have not seen before. Her whole countenance just radiates vitality in a way I have not seen in her. I stand amazed, speechless as my little girl is more alive than I have EVER seen her. I swear she has grown already. She has not had one "funny-boom-boom", her little lips and fingers are pink, pink, pink. Even her face and eyes look more vibrant. The change is truly astonishing. I had no idea it could be this way. I feel so incredibly thankful in every speck of my soul that we get to see her thriving like this....unfettered for the first time!
...and it makes me ponder many times a day, where are the places that I might be shackled? The places that I just avoid thinking about and go about my day functioning but weighed down, making it but not thriving. I find myself asking God to search me, to show me, to free me from those things that pull at and fetter me causing me to walk and run weary and faint.
Because He wants to free us.
As a parent, watching my little girl try so hard to do everything while bound by lack of oxygen, I found myself begging for an answer, a way to free her. Isn't that probably how God feels? He sees us trying so hard, carrying such burdens, gasping for air...and yet, He became the answer. We do have a way. It is our choice and He begs us to surrender those burdens so we too can thrive unfettered...

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Hebrews 12:2-4

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30

What wonderful news! So great to see that smiling little face and know that she is really living life to its fullest. Time for Mom and Dad to take a well deserved break from all the stress and worry, too. Love from Cool, Sherry and Bill
